Most therapy helps you understand your problems.
This work changes them.
Experiential therapy in Victoria, BC and online across most of Canada — for people who've gone as far as insight can take them.

The problem isn't a lack of understanding
You know why you get anxious before presentations. You know why you withdraw when criticized, why you replay the meeting on the drive home.
And it keeps happening anyway.
That's because anxiety, conflict, and self-doubt are symptoms — the part you can see. What produces them sits deeper:
The understanding is real. It's just aimed at the wrong layer.
I work at
the layer where the patterns are stored.
What is experiential therapy?
Experiential therapy works at the level of emotional memory and the nervous system — the level where patterns are actually stored.
The methods I use — AEDP, Coherence Therapy, IFS, somatic and embodiment work — all target that level. Different doors into the same room.
Talk therapy analyzes what happened last week. Here, we work with what's happening in the room: the emotion coming up, the belief firing, the way your body braces. When your nervous system registers something that contradicts an old learning — not intellectually, but as a felt experience — the learning can update. Neuroscience calls this memory reconsolidation. You'd call it the pattern finally letting go.
Capable everywhere except here
My clients tend to be people who are good at hard things. Some are founders, executives, physicians, lawyers; many are simply thoughtful adults who've been working on themselves for years.
The common thread isn't a job title. It's that you've gone deep — therapy, books, honest self-examination — and haven't reached resolution. Depth wasn't the problem. Direction was: analysis travels through thought, and the pattern isn't stored in thought.
You might recognize yourself if
- You've done therapy before. It helped — up to a point. That point was understanding.
- You can explain your patterns clearly and still can't shift them.
- You're high-functioning on the outside, working hard to stay that way on the inside.
- You want the pattern resolved, not better managed.
- You're ready to be challenged.
This probably isn't the right fit if:
- You want short-term symptom management or quick techniques.
- You want a therapist who only listens and validates.
- You need therapy to stay comfortable.
I work with adults and couples, in person in Victoria or online across most of Canada.
What sessions are like
Active, not passive. You won't spend fifty minutes recapping your week while I nod along.
Expect direct feedback when a pattern shows up live. Experiments, not just conversation. Attention to what your nervous system is saying while you talk. Questions that push past your current frame.
Warmth, but not softness — I care about your growth more than your comfort.
50-minute individual sessions · 50 or 80-minute couples sessions · In-person in Victoria or secure video
What I work with
About me
I'm Andras — Registered Clinical Counsellor, neuroscience background at McGill, trained in AEDP, Coherence Therapy, and IFS.
I became a therapist because I'm interested in how change actually happens — not just why people get stuck. I spent years understanding my own patterns before I learned the difference.
